Using advances in neuroscience, TRT, CBT and advanced brain habituation and conditioning protocols, therapies and treatments used in our clinic are proven to be effective, in removing from awareness of the suffering person all or most symptoms of even catastrophic levels of chronic tinnitus, severe hyperacusis and extreme misophonia with all their symptoms. Working with a team of professionals, every person going through the process is treated as an individual with highly personalized therapy or treatment programs designed for her/his benefit, personal attention and care. For some people it takes months for others it can take longer, but the combination of personal care.

TRT based therapy plus specialized psychology interventions with the elements from neuroscience is known to be very effective and the ratio of success is above 90% worldwide. We are conducting and performing tinnitus, hyperacusis and misophonia treatments with the family physician’s approval after no other medical issues which would prevent successful treatment are present or relevant. A referral from your family doctor is not necessary. Treatment is based on a series of visits with the initial assessments, treatment initiation and follow up therapy sessions.

Assessment is mandatory in order to be able to recommend to the patient highly personalized therapy or treatment based on his/her needs. Please be aware that some patients can be helped with the tinnitus management guidance only with no need for the therapy or treatment. Assessment includes: specialized auditory system assessment, specialized tinnitus noise testing and diagnostic, tinnitus / hyperacusis / misophonia oriented questionnaires and additional symptoms testing conducted based on the patient's individual situation. Also in cases where they are needed, anxiety and stress level assessments are included. Based on the assessment findings and results we are able to provide every tested individual with all available options including a set of condition oriented maintenance instructions and if needed different levels and complexity therapies and treatments. Tested individuals are not obligated in any way to use any of the recommended treatments or any other options including specialized devices or advice. Please note only individual counseling sessions are provided. Cost of the therapies or treatments may be covered partially by OHIP (ADP). Many private insurance plans, work benefits, ODSP, WSIB, Ontario Works and Veterans Affairs may provide full coverage of the therapies treatments.

None of the treatments include or are based on masking or any type of sound therapy designed to provide patients with temporary relief. Please notice some types of tinnitus are known to get worse after exposure to sounds, because of the low sound tolerance component and usage of hearing aids or maskers can affect tinnitus sufferers with rapid condition symptoms worsening. Patients who suffer from hyperacusis should never be fitted with any hearing aids/maskers as any exposure to elevated levels of sound/noise can make their condition much worse. Treatment of misophonia requires very special level of expertise where any type of hearing instruments should be avoided.
